… but maybe at our next viewing days this Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd when you can inspect first hand a collection of dresses belonging to the WWII ‘Forces Sweetheart’ Dame Vera Lynn (lots 207 to 210).

The clothes, which had been donated for sale by Dame Vera for charity and come with signed letters of authenticity, date from the early to late 1960s and include bold geometric prints for day and floating chiffon creations for evening.

Above left: lot 207, four blue and white cocktail ensembles originally owned by Dame Vera Lynn, circa 1960. Estimate £200-300. Above right: lot 208, four colourfully printed or woven dresses, originally owned by Dame Vera Lynn,
mid 1960s. Estimate £200-300

One of the lots includes a much-travelled cardboard suitcase, covered with train and liner labels including one for the White Star Line 1st class. The case is lined with a page from ‘The Daily Mirror’ newspaper, dated June 1946.

Lot 209, four chiffon evening ensembles originally owned by Dame Vera Lynn, 1960s-early 1970s, and a suitcase with interesting luggage stickers. Estimate £200-300
